When it comes to cleaning, essential oils can be a great natural alternative to harsh chemicals. Here are some of the best essential oils to use for cleaning:

Lemon oil:

Lemon essential oil has natural antibacterial properties and a fresh scent that can help to eliminate odors and grease. I love using lemon essential oil for cleaning because the citrus scent is so uplifting. And who doesn’t need some uplifting when cleaning, right?! Seriously. Not my favorite task. But, I do love to make some great cleaning DIYs with lemon essential oil.

Here are some of my favorites:

DIY bleach

Poo-pourri

Cleaning fizzies,

Dryer sheets

Furniture/wood polish

Grout cleaner

Glass cleaner

I love diffusing it while cleaning too.

Tea tree oil:

Tea tree essential oil is a powerful antifungal and antibacterial agent that can help to disinfect surfaces and kill mold.

Some of my favorite DIY cleaning recipes with essential oils are:

Cleaning Fizzies,

diffuser blends

Natural air fresheners

Lavender essential oil:

Lavender oil has a calming scent and can help to remove odors and freshen up your home.

Some of my favorite ways to use lavender essential oil when cleaning are:

diffusing these lavender blends

poo-pourri sprays

dryer sheets

linen spray

air fresheners.

Peppermint oil:

Peppermint essential oil has a refreshing scent and can help to repel insects like ants and spiders.

I love to use peppermint essential oil in the following recipes:

summer bug spray

minty fresh air freshener sprays

cleaning fizzies

Eucalyptus oil:

Eucalyptus essential oil has a strong, fresh scent and can help to kill germs and bacteria.

Here are some of my favorite ways to use eucalyptus essential oil when cleaning:

poo-pourri spray

DIY dryer sheets

manly diffuser blends (though we all love them, not just the men in our lives lol)

air purifying diffuser blends

And Eucalyptus is one of the 5 essential oils in a super powerful blend called Thieves which Young Living makes an entire cleaning line from.

To use essential oils for cleaning, simply add a few drops to your cleaning solution or mix with water in a spray bottle. Remember to always use caution when working with essential oils and follow proper dilution guidelines.
