Unfortunately, no matter how hard we try to avoid it, sometimes we do get sick. One of the symptoms I hate the most is a sore throat. This weekend I felt the itch in my throat which soon turned to a tingle and then a full blown sore and irritated throat. My daughter, being the kind soul she is, kindly made me a cup of hot tea with a drop of Thieves and a drop of Lemon. And while that was soothing when I was drinking it, I needed something stronger. So I whipped up a soothing throat spray and, you guys, it’s awesome. Here’s my recipe for this awesome homemade soothing throat spray.
Soothing Throat Spray

This homemade sore throat spray is soothing, cleansing, provides immune support and contains antioxidants. It's super easy to make too!
Ingredients
Instructions
- Super simple. Add all the ingredients to the glass spray bottle. Shake. And spray your throat 2-3 times as needed.
All you need is:
1 tsp raw, unfiltered honey (mine is in this jar because we actually got this from a beehive in our front yard)
5 drops Thieves Essential Oil
5 drops Clove Essential Oil
3 drops Lemon Essential Oil
3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
Water
Here’s How Easy It Is To Make It
Add all the ingredients to the glass spray bottle. Give a little shake to mix it all up and then just spray your throat 2-3 times.
I have been using this throughout the day today and each time I do it I immediately feel some relief.
This recipe is so cool because you can even customize it. Add a little more honey if you want it to be a little sweeter and to coat your throat a little more. Add a little more Clove if you want more of a numbing effect. Add a little more Thieves if you want more immune support. Or Lemon for a cleansing effect. O even more Peppermint for the fresh, cooling feeling. That’s one of the things I love so much about essential oil DIYs, you can customize them pretty much however you like. But any way you make it, you are sure to love this homemade soothing throat spray.
I love it because the oils provide immune support, are cleansing, and contain antioxidants. So not only is this soothing throat spray soothing, but it’s also really good for you.
If you still need your essential oils you can grab them here. But, of course, I always recommend a Premium Starter Bundle because it honestly is the best deal (12 essential oils plus a diffuser and some other fun stuff at over half off retail? Yes, please!).
