Hey tired mama. I see you. I hear you. I’ve been you. On a lot of days, I am you. It’s so hard to do the most important role of our lifetime when we aren’t feeling up to it. We are tired. Burnt out. Worn out. Exhausted. Momming is hard. And it’s even harder when we feel like we are failing at it. I get it. I feel that way too. But, let me tell you, there is a whole plethora of things we can do about it. If you are tired of feeling tired, let me help you. I’ve got some great essential oils for tired moms that will help put some pep in your step and some joy in your heart. Afterall, the theme of this blog is “Joy and Well-being With Essential Oils”.
Here are some of my recommendations for starting off the morning right and getting out of that tired funk.

Mornings can be rough, am I right? Maybe you are already tired from not going to bed early enough. Long work hours, dealing with kids who won’t go to sleep, or maybe you just needed that quiet me time to binge a show after everyone else was asleep. Or maybe you are tired from waking up multiple times a night to care for a child, to get up to pee (thanks kids for destroying my body lol) or maybe it was even your own brain waking you to make you think about what all is on that never ending todo list.
Diffuse The Morning

First thing, start your diffuser. I love to prefill my diffusers at night with whatever I will want to diffuse in the morning. That way, all I have to do is press the power button. My favorite (and bonus, super inexpensive) diffuser blend to diffuse in the morning is equal drops Peppermint and Orange. The Peppermint is awakening and energizing and the Orange is good for supporting emotions and happy moods. Together it’s the perfect combination to start the day.

Frequency and What Your Body Needs
I think it’s important for you to know essential oils work the way they do because they actually can increase your frequency, or energy! Jen O’Sullivan does an amazing little video on that over on YouTube. Watch it here (skip to minute 2:10 if you don’t want the intro chatter and want to get to the point).
I always suggest this, pick an oil you are being drawn to. Oftentimes it’s Joy, Motivation, Valor, Bergamot… something that is happy, encouraging, and uplifting. Put one drop in your hands, rub your palms together and cup over your nose and mouth. Inhale the oils deeply and slowly, then exhale slowly for 5 or so times. Notice how your body is already starting to feel less tense. Then rub your hands on your shoulders and through your hair to get all that oil goodness near your face so you can smell it throughout the day. You can also apply the essential oils to different parts of your body. This is a great little blog post that explains where to apply essential oils.
A lot of times, with essential oils, our bodies (and subconscious minds) know exactly what we need. Just like when our bodies crave certain foods, our bodies can crave certain essential oils. So pick what you are drawn to.

Journal
I don’t know what your morning routine looks like, but if you have a few minutes to yourself before you have to wake your kids up, I highly suggest journaling. It really helps to release negative thoughts and energies and focus on the good that the day has to offer.
Keep an eye out for my upcoming blog post on Journal prompts with accompanying essential oils. In the meantime, some amazing essential oils to diffuse and apply topically when journaling are Frankincense, Bergamot, Highest Potential, Envision, Abundance, Motivation, Joy and Citrus Fresh. Highest Potential, Envision, Abundance, Joy and Motivation are all blends that were created by Young Living to encourage feelings corresponding to the name of each oil. I recommend using each of them individually. If you are using Frankincense, Bergamot, or Citrus Fresh feel free to use individually or blend with something else that sounds good to you. See what you are drawn to at the moment.

Health Matters
Let’s not forget an immune supporting roller. I love this recipe here. My kids and I use this every day. I can’t be the mom I want to be if I’m not feeling the greatest and the oils in this roller are known for their immune supporting properties.
