Essential Oils For Seasonal Support

March 1 By Devin

Ahh, can you smell that?  The freshness in the air? The time of closing up all the doors and windows is gone and we are enjoying the fresh air in hour home!  Fun fact, the air in your home is likely more polluted than the air outdoors. Did you know that?  I’ll touch more on that in another post and tell you how you can change that. But for now, let’s talk about some irritations that come along with the nicer weather. Springtime, summertime, and even fall brings changes to the air that sometimes have us avoiding going outdoors. That’s why we use essential oils for seasonal support.

I love the smell of the fresh cut grass (tho, admittedly, we don’t smell that too often down here in southern Cali… most grass is dry and brown this time of year), and the sounds of the birds during the days and the frogs and crickets during the nights. I love to sleep with my window open and a cool breeze flowing in. But, along with all this happiness for me, my husband and oldest daughter can be pretty uncomfortable during this time of year.  I feel pretty bad for them, actually.

It’s a pretty well known fact in the oil world that there is a combo of three essential oils that can offer relief to these seasonal discomforts. Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint essential oils are constantly flowing in our home right about now. This can be in the form of being diffused, added to a roller ball to apply topically or using the Vitality versions of those in veggie capsules and down the hatch they go!

Diffuse It

Add 3 drops each of Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint to your diffuser and you not only experience some great relief but the house will smell AMAZING as well! Here are some more great diffuser blends for spring! Also, at the time of this post, Young Living just dropped the price on their Desert Mist Diffuser and Dew Drop Diffuser by over half!

Roll It

Add equal drops Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint to a roller bottle and fill the rest of the way with a carrier oil. There are several options for applying this. My husband likes it on the bridge of his nose, but that’s too intense for my 14 year old. She likes it on the back of her neck and on the bottoms of her feet. Try applying this in different areas and see what works best for you. I like to use a 10ml roller bottle and add 4-6 drops of each oil and top with a carrier oil.

Ingest It

If you are using the vitality line of these essential oils, you can safely ingest them. Before making the choice to ingest essential oils, talk with your Dr if you have any concerns about interactions with medications or any medical conditions you may have. As I’ve mentioned before, this is why I only use Young Living, because I trust them and they are labeled for ingestion. If you go to the store and grab a cheap bottle of essential oil it will specifically say it is NOT for internal use. Do NOT ingest those, please! I like to add 2 drops of each Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint Vitality and top with a carrier oil. We use veggie capsules for this. And bonus, later you may taste the peppermint again lol. I actually love it!

Luckily, all three of these essential oils come in the Premium Starter Kit. You can get your kit here or you can learn more about it here.

So there you have it, go outside, run around with your kiddos, take a book outside to read, enjoy a picnic outside, or just lay in the grass and stare up at the clouds. Enjoy the outdoors again by using essential oils for seasonal support. It works for us, maybe it will work for you too!

Still need your essential oils?

I do have to say one more time, I ONLY USE YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS. They are 100% pure. No pesticides touch the crops. There are no additives in the oils. No watering down. Distilled at the right time of year for the specific plant. They are distilled at the right temperature, for the right amount of time (no short cuts here). To read more about Young Living and their seed to seal guarantee go to www.seedtoseal.com and you will see why I only use them. PLUS, I cannot speak to the quality of other brands and can’t guarantee they will be any good at all.

For a limited time only, I’m giving a $20 Amazon gift card to all new members who purchase any of the Young Living Premium Starter Kits using my link! I’ll also keep in touch with you and share all about how to use essential oils (unless you want me to leave you alone, then I will lol). To order your kit click here.
