I have some gnarly scars on my knee from a nasty fall I took a few months ago. From prior experience and research, I know that essential oils can promote healing and support natural cell growth. So I decided to make a Scar Serum Roller, using these essential oils for scars, to promote healing.
There are a lot of different essential oils you can use for the Scar Serum Roller. I picked the ones I had on hand that are known for cellular support and promote healthy skin.
Here’s what I used:
Tea Tree – antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal effects, and promotes wound healing
Lavender – promotes cell and tissue growth, has antibiotic, antioxidant, and antiseptic properties
Frankincense – sooths skin, promotes even skin tone, supports cellular function, and may promote the growth of new skin cells
Hyssop – antiseptic, antifungal, and antibacterial properties, supports the repair of damaged skin
Rose – supports the appearance of healthy looking skin, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines
Carrot Seed – antibacterial and antifungal activities which can promote diminishing the appearance of scars.
Rosehip Oil – this is the carrier oil I picked because it is great for supporting healthy looking skin and that’s the point of this roller
Scar Serum

Support healthy looking skin and promote the reduction of the appearance of scars with this Scar Serum recipe using these 6 essential oils for scars.

Instructions
- Add all the essential oils to the 10ml roller bottle.
- Fill the rest of the way with a carrier oil. I picked Rosehip because it supports healthy skin. You can read more about carrier oils here.
- Apply 2-3 times a day. I expect best results to be shown in about one month of continuous usage.
Notes
Again, you don't have to use these exact essential oils. Some are rather pricey and some you may not have on hand. See my suggested oils in the blog post for a variety of essential oils for scars that you can choose from.
The great thing about essential oils is there’s really no right or wrong way and you can combine different things based on personal preference or just what you have on hand. You don’t have to use these exact oils. Some other great options for skin supporting essential oils are Geranium, Neroli, Helichrysum, and Chamomile. I was going to use Geranium in my roller but it appears to have grown legs and walked off so I used some of my precious Rose Essential Oil instead.
Use Consistently and Frequently
I recommend applying this roller 2-3 times a day. I started mine today and will post an update in about a month. Based on my research, it may take up to a month for me to notice a difference in the appearance of the scars. I’m super excited to see how these essential oils for scars work for me!
