For Mother’s Day 2015 I received my very first Premium Starter Kit. I felt like a kid in a candy store the day it arrived. But once I opened it I wondered where to start. What do I do now? I mean, I had ZERO experience with essential oils before this (except the one time I bought Jasmine from the health food store down the street, put it in my laundry and my clothes came out smelling like pee! Not the best first experience). I knew I wanted to use them to help me eliminate toxic chemicals from our home. I wanted to use them to take better care of my family. But I had no idea where to start. I had no real information. I needed resources. So I get it, if you are new to essential oils you may not know what to do first. So, I have compiled a small list of some of my favorite essential oil resources for you.
My enroller was kind enough to gift me with this book, The Essential Oil Pocket Reference. It is AMAZING. There is so much info on the Young Living essential oils. What I like about this book, is you can look up information by the oil (peppermint, lemon, etc) to see what these oils are good for, or you can look up an issue you are having and see what essential oils can be used for it. Plus, it’s relatively small so I would keep in in my purse and read through it during the pick up line at school.
The second book I got was The Essential Oil Truth. This author is fantastic! This book is not based on an essential oil company-just the essential oil facts. She talks about oil basics; what they are, how you use them, how they work, why they should be used as well as digs into the science behind them. I love all the information.
Next up is French Aromatherapy. This is written by the same author as The Essential Oil Truth. What is French Aromatherapy? French Aromatherapy involves using essential oils not only aromatically and topically but by ingesting. The author, Jen O’Sullivan, is a certified aromatherapist with certification in French Aromatherapy. In her book she talks about some of the science behind the oils and also provides a bunch of different recipes for aromatic purposes, topical recipes, and recipes for ingesting the oils. It’s amazing how these oils can be used in so many ways.
Fearless is my new favorite lol. This book is great because it’s small and an easy read but so informative at the same time. This talks about the important of eliminating toxins aka harsh chemicals from your home as well as how you can incorporate essential oils into your life. It’s AMAZING!
Another one I love 50 Easy All-Natural Skin Care Solutions Using Essential Oils. As you know, I love making my own products and this is a simple, step by step guide on making skin care products along with where to find the other items you will need. These recipes are super cost effective. Did you know making your own skin care products is actually cheaper than purchasing toxic filled crud they sell at the store? Win-win! This is an e-book so you get the convenience of having it where ever you have your smart phone or other electronic device. Oh, and even better, it’s pretty new, so the ideas are fresh and it’s on SALE to promote the book. If you want this one I suggest getting it quickly before the price goes up.
Ok, there you have it. Some of my favorite essential oil resources that anyone can readily access. I do have a few more resources up my sleeve but those are reserved for those of you who have already purchased (or do purchase) your Premium Starter Kit from my link and are now a part of my oil tribe. I hope you enjoy these! Please feel free to comment if you have a favorite essential oil resource as well. I’m always looking for more favorites!
