Can you believe the holidays are just about here? I love decorating my home for the holidays. There’s just something about a warm, festive, cozy home that makes my heart happy. What I’m not a fan of is the price tag that comes along with all those holiday decorations! So I decided to make some of my own. I love the way this easy DIY orange garland turned out so I wanted to share how I did it with you.
I love how these turned out on my cabinets as a festive way to decorate my kitchen for super cheap. The oranges were .50 a pound on sale at our local store and the rosemary is from our front yard. We already had the twine from when we made these sugar scrubs. But if you need some, you can grab it off Amazon here.
You can also use these to decorate gifts, to attach name tags to, or even for place settings at your dinner table. I love easy DIY projects that don’t cost a fortune. These easy DIY Orange Garland strands are perfect decor and a great craft to do with your kiddos.
This easy DIY orange garland is a great way to inexpensively add some festive holiday decor to your home. You can also make a larger garland with this recipe, following the same instructions. The Ginger Home has a great blog post on doing it this way. You can read that here.Easy DIY Orange Garland

Notes
- preheat your oven to 225.
- slice oranges in 1/8 to 1/4 inch slices. A mandoline may be helpful here. I didn’t have one and my slices weren’t even so cooked unevenly as well.
- pat oranges dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- place orange slices on parchment paper on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 3 hours or until oranges are dry, flipping once halfway through.
- let oranges cool then poke two small holes in opposite ends of each orange slice
- thread twine through holes of three oranges (you can do more or less).
- poke a rosemary sprig in the top orange.
- use sticky tack or tape to attach the twine to the inside of the cabinet
Stay tuned for my next post where I show you what I did with the orange slices that turned a little too brown for my liking lol. Also, I can’t wait to paint my cabinets white so things like this really pop against the clean white background!
