
Oh I am so dang excited for summer, are you!? I love having the kids home and less schedules to follow. We spend a lot of our time outdoors in the summer, by the pool, at the beach, hiking, camping… Anything to soak up that sun and fresh air. But what I don’t like about the summer is the bugs that come with it. I’ve got a great diy outdoor summer spray for you to try!
This contains citronella which is a natural insect repellant, plus with the addition of lemongrass and peppermint, it just makes it that much better!
You can us this spray to freshen up outdoor furniture, sleeping bags and use as a personal body spray.
All you need are 4 simple ingredients, citronella essential oil, lemongrass essential oil, peppermint essential oil, witch hazel, water, and a 4 oz glass spray bottle.

This easy to make DIY Outdoor Summer Spray is perfect to freshen up outdoor furniture, and even sleeping bags. It also contains insect repelling properties. Try using it as a natural body spray as well!
Materials
- 4 oz Glass Spray Bottle
- 5 drops Citronella Essential Oil
- 3 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
- 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oil
- 2 oz Witch Hazel
- 2 oz Water
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in the glass spray bottle. Shake and spray!

Make sure to shake it before you spray it so all the oils get mixed together with the witch hazel and water 🙂
