Ahh that feeling of climbing into your soft comfy bed with freshly laundered sheets. It really is one of the best feelings ever, amirite? It’s especially awesome after a long day, or if you were able to enjoy a relaxing bath right before hand. Some of the best relaxation and best sleep can come from this experience. But, life happens and sometimes you are dragging yourself to bed or aren’t feeling like you will be able to easily drift off to la la land. Or maybe your sheets aren’t so freshly laundered. Lol. Either way, you can make your linens smell absolutely amazing in just a matter of seconds! I’ve got an awesome DIY linen spray recipe I want to share with you. Like most things you can DIY with essential oils, this is completely customizable so you can make the scent just how you want. Spritz this on your sheets just before tucking yourself in for the best experience!

When you think of rest, relaxation, and drifting off to sleep, one of the first essential oils that typically comes to mind is Lavender. So, clearly, this would be a go essential oil to use in your DIY linen spray. It’s super easy to make.

Here’s how:

Grab a 2oz glass spray bottle, fill it approximately 2/3 of the way with distilled water, approximately 1/3 of the way with witch hazel or rubbing alcohol and then add in 12-15 drops of essential oil of your choice.  You can just do Lavender by itself or you can get creative and mix different things together.  Keep scrolling to see some amazing blends I love to use in my DIY linen spray. These are all great to create a relaxing environment perfect for a good nights rest.  And I’ll share some other linen sprays at the bottom of the post that can be used for linens, but they are more fresh, awakening scents so they are also good for other areas of your home.

Serenity Linen Spray

6 drops Lavender, 5 drops Vetiver, 3 drops Ylang Ylang

Lullaby Linen Spray

5 drops Lavender, 4 drops Cedarwood, 3 drops Frankincense

Dream Land Linen Spray

7 drops Lavender, 7 drops Peace & Calming

Nighty Night Linen Spray

5 drops Valerian, 5 drops Frankincense, 5 drops Lavender

Dream Catcher Linen Spray

6 drops Lavender, 5 drops Cedarwood, 3 drops Vetiver

Rest Easy Linen Spray

4 drops Lavender, 4 drops Frankincense, 4 drops Roman Chamomile

Peaceful Night Linen Spray

7 drops Lavender, 7 drops Cedarwood

Hit the Hay Linen Spray

5 drops Bergamot, 5 drops Frankincense, 2 drops Cedarwood

You can also make a bigger version so that it lasts longer and you don’t have to make it as often. To do that, you would just do 4 oz distilled water with 2 oz witch hazel or rubbing alcohol and 35-45 drops essential of your choice. You could easily make any of the above listed recipes into this bigger version.

I prefer soothing and calming oils for night time, as I feel they help me sleep better. But I wanted to share a few other DIY linen sprays with you as well because they smells so good. I actually like to spray these on our couches. But you’re welcome to spray on carpets, in your car or on whatever furniture your heart desires.

Citrus Bliss Linen Spray

3 drops Bergamot, 3 drops Lime, 3 drops Lemon, 3 drops Grapefruit

Ocean Breeze Linen Spray

3 drops Bergamot, 3 drops Eucalyptus Globulus, 3 drops Lavender, 3 drops Rosemary, 2 drops Spearmint

Fresh Spring Linen Spray

7 drops Geranium, 4 drops Lemon, 3 drops Orange

What’s your favorite linen spray? Is it one of these or do you have one you like better? Please share in the comments 🙂
